MEDIATOR

The first part of my career was spent at a large defense firm, specializing in complex product liability litigation on behalf of product liability defendants, primarily major automotive manufacturers. I began working as a regional counsel for General Motors at the age of 27. While much of my early career was spent in discovery, managing corporate/insurer expectations, and mediation, later years included the successful trials of cases for GM, Nissan, Firestone, and Kawasaki.

The latter part of my career involved the creation of my own firm, which has primarily represented Plaintiffs in product liability, medical negligence, premises liability, sexual assault/abuse, and serious injury negligence cases. While most of my clients’ cases resolved through mediation, I tried a number of cases to verdict, such as product liability cases against Ford, as well as medical malpractice cases. A smaller firm structure has also allowed me to act as defense counsel on select personal injury cases, in house counsel for a small Dallas company, and act as a court appointed guardian ad litem on cases in state and federal court, including a mass tort settlement involving over 300 minors. On occasion, I have been retained to evaluate legal malpractice cases, for both defendants and plaintiffs.

My experience offers a unique perspective from which to help resolve conflict.

My interest in law was inspired by my father, the late Honorable Kenneth C. Dippel, a practicing Texas lawyer for over 50 years and former Judge of the 95th District Court in Dallas. He encouraged what some might call old school values, including the long term importance of collegial relationships with your adversary. I have followed that advice, and the result has been to gain the trust of my colleagues.

If you have any questions about my suitability to mediate your case, please feel free to call or email.

My mediation practice will be with Mark Gilbert and the Gilbert Mediation Group. All requests for mediation dates and scheduling should be directed through http://gmgtexas.com/bill-dippel/
